EOC Reopened – No Change Overnight – Awaiting Info
Ruapehu District Council (RDC) Civil Defence Emergency Operations Centre (EOC) has reopened at 8.00am for Tuesday 23 June 2015
There has been no change overnight to the Pipiriki-Raetihi Rd situation.
Waipuna Rd is now reopened having been cleared of an over-slip.
Council road contractors GHD are undertaking a full assessment via helicopter of the affected area late this morning.
Council will be coordinating its findings from the aerial assessment and other analysis with Wanganui District Council’s (WDC) civil defence response efforts to determine the best way forward.
Department of Conservation (DOC) staff are currently working on reopening the boat ramp on Whanganui River.
Checks on the river yesterday demonstrated that Pipiriki could be supported via the river.
In the interim RDC will be taking advantage of the aerial analysis to drop additional food and other supplies to Pipiriki residents.
