Kapiti Coast District Council media advisory - issued at 2.20pm
Rain is still falling in some parts of the district but things seem to be settling down - river levels are dropping.
Our operations guys are going to take a well-earned break after working through the night.
Road crews are still working to clear Ōtaki Gorge Road but we hope it will open later today.
Convent Road remains closed.
The slip on Waterfall Road has been cleared.
Work will soon begin to clear Freemans Road.
The water main at Ringawhati Bridge has been repaired and nearby properties now have water. The bridge will remain closed until early next week.
Debris is still being cleared from a number of roads - motorists should continue to take care.
We're now shutting down our operations centre and do not anticipate issuing further media advisories, unless the conditions change.
