Skating to Support Native Wildlife
Wellington, NZ – This Saturday Paradice Ice Skating will be opening their doors on the Wellington waterfront and to
celebrate, they’re donating $1 for every skater that comes through during the weekend to ZEALANDIA Sanctuary in Karori.
It’s the first time that the Auckland-based ice skating company has set up in the capital, and they’ll be bringing with
them a brand new outdoor ice rink, as well as a 40-metre ‘Mega Ice Slide.’
It’s also the first time Paradice have worked with ZEALANDIA – a partnership celebrating not only conservation
activities, but Wellington’s unique eco-asset.
“We wanted to choose an organisation that does important environmental work, but is also meaningful to Wellingtonians”,
says General Manager Chris Blong. “Zealandia was naturally a great fit.”
The rink officially opens at 10am on Saturday 20th Juneand there will be a series of themed events, including the
ZEALANDIA Weekend.
“We are really excited to be bringing the Paradice skate and slide experience to Wellington for the first time” explains
Blong. "We take pride in not only giving people an introduction to skating, but doing things differently with great
events.”
