Transport options for the FIFA U-20 World Cup

If you’re heading to the FIFA U-20 World Cup finals at North Harbour Stadium on Saturday (20 June), plan your trip in advance and allow extra time as the roads will be busy. Some parking is available around the stadium.

Public transport is also a good option to get to the play-off match for third place at 1.30 and the final at 5pm. Public transport to the event is included with your match ticket.

Auckland Transport’s Operations Manager – Special Events Logan Christian says special event buses will run from the central city, Takapuna and Henderson to get fans to and from the stadium.

Buses from Downtown Auckland to North Harbour Stadium will depart from Quay St, between Commerce St and Gore St from 11:00am for the play-off match and from 2:20pm for the final.

Buses will go from Takapuna from 11:00am and 2:30pm. Buses from Takapuna will depart from the temporary bus stop between 142-152 Hurstmere Rd near the Wilsons Car Park and travel via the Northern Busway, the buses from Henderson will run from midday and 3:30pm from the temporary bus stop on Railside Ave opposite Pioneer St.

After each match all event buses will depart from directly outside the stadium on Don McKinnon Drive.

Travel on trains to Britomart, to connect with a bus to the stadium, is also included with match tickets. You can travel from 3 hours prior to kick-off until the last train service of the night.

Mr Christian says: “Whether you are taking the bus or driving to the venue on Saturday it is important that you allow plenty of time to get there because traffic will be heavy.”

Nearby parking areas for this event include Kristin School, Massey University, Albany Senior High School and Hooten Reserve for $5 per vehicle. For more information please visit www.aucklandnz.com/fifau20.
