Cutting edge video technology promotes Lake wanaka to thousands

Hyperlapse video is the new ‘It Girl’ online and Lake Wanaka Tourism hired one of the world’s best to showcase Lake Wanaka to a global audience.

WANAKA, NZ, June 17, 2015–Lake Wanaka Tourism commissioned the talents of Australian based Belgium videographer and hyperlapse specialist, Matthew Vandeputte, to create a stunning hyperlapse film of the Lake Wanaka landscape.

Following on from the highly successful Instameet Wanaka, Vandeputte spent hundreds of hours taking shots in the region to edit into the video released online yesterday. Potential views of the video are well into the hundreds of thousands. In just one day views have reached 2,500.

The purpose of the video is to inspire travel to the region. Visual marketing works. People see something amazing online, a video, an image, and are drawn to it.

With attention spans ever shortening in this digital era, a 90 second hyperlapse video is a highly effective way to put the Lake Wanaka region in front of an engaged audience. It leaves an everlasting impression – as does a visit to the Lake
