Hunters, bakers, fishers, farmers: the best Kapiti has to offer on a plate, captures the land and sea at this lunch in association with Visa Wellington on a Plate in the category of “The Essential Ingredient – Up close and personal focus on food.”
PartyPerfect and Kapiti Business Projects brings you a feast for the palate and hands-on demos on how to identify, choose, prepare & enjoy the bounty of the Coast on Saturday 22 August & Saturday 29 August 2015. The iconic Otaihanga Boating Club will be the venue for this lunch (12-3.30pm).
120 tickets (60 tickets per date) will be available for purchase by those who want to savour the taste of local seafood and meats in an unrivalled setting on the south bank of the Waikanae River. You will learn:
1. About the various meat types, cuts and quality
2. About local meat & fish varieties, availability & preparation
3. From local enthusiasts on their passion for local food
Artel Gallery of Waikanae has been chosen to theme the venue and BCE Catering Equipment will be sharpening its knives with a demonstration on the day. Jeanine van Kradenburg of PartyPerfect says “that she is delighted to be able to plan a menu that will capture the essence of the land and sea. Everything will be sourced from the ocean surrounding Kapiti Island, the foothills of the Tararua Ranges and the local rolling meadows and farms.”
Helene Judge of Kapiti Business Projects is thrilled that Surf & Turf Kapiti Style has been chosen to be part of the 2015 Visa Wellington on a Plate festival. “This event brings together all that is great about the Coast – it will be a meal to remember and an all-round experience of Kapiti hospitality – it will be a special day out,” says Helene.
