A time to thrive, not just survive

A time to thrive, not just survive

Upper Hutt City Council, along with Umbrella Health is to host another opportunity for residents to discover more about cognitive health and wellbeing and the importance it plays in their lives.

UPPER HUTT, Wellington NZ, 12 JUN 2015—Upper Hutt residents are invited to gather for soup and hearty discussions at a wellbeing and resilience workshop. Due to the popularity of last year’s Wellbeing Workshop, Upper Hutt City Council is pleased to welcome back Umbrella Health and will be hosting a similar workshop building on this topic. This new interactive workshop addresses the questions: ‘Do you want to thrive rather than just survive?’ and ‘What are the best tools for staying resilient when life is a bit stressful?’

Workshop participants will find out what recent scientific research has revealed about what will help them to stay resilient and to thrive in their lives—and how this knowledge can be put into practical everyday use.

“Feedback from last year’s workshop has been very positive,” says Council’s Community Services Director, Mike Ryan. “We are looking to expand on this and continue to support people to build strength and resilience into their lives, which will, in turn, build strength and resilience into our communities.”

There are four opportunities to attend the workshop. It will be held at 6.00 pm on 24 June, 12.30 pm on 25 June, and 6.00 pm on1 July at Upper Hutt Central Library, and 12.00 pm on 3 July at Timberlea Community Centre. Each session will be accompanied by hearty winter soup. Participants will be better prepared for life’s ups and downs, leaving this workshop equipped with new knowledge and inspiration.
