Finalists announced in first Technology Valley Awards

Finalists announced in first Technology Valley Awards

The Technology Valley Group today announced the five finalists in two categories of the inaugural Technology Valley Awards. It is a criterion of the awards that the businesses be based in the Hutt Valley.
Lower Hutt Mayor Ray Wallace says, "Our area is a leader in the science, technology and manufacturing sectors and it's fantastic to recognise and celebrate some of the most innovative and successful businesses we have here."
The finalists for Established Technology Valley Business category are:

1. Aspeq Ltd: assessment specialists in high-stakes services (e.g. aviation) who ensure candidates qualify for their licenses and other qualifications.

2. Dulux New Zealand: part of DuluxGroup who protect and beautify the places and spaces New Zealanders live and work.

3. Label and Litho Limited: a major supplier of self-adhesive labelling to New Zealand and overseas markets, with particular emphasis on quality food, wine/beverage, and pharmaceutical labelling.
The finalists for Emerging Technology Valley Business category are:

1. Dry Living Limited: offering a third type of solution for home ventilation and giving back with their 411 scheme; for every 41 units sold they give away a free system to a family that can't otherwise afford it.

2. Neos Systems Limited: providing ICT products and services to small and medium businesses throughout New Zealand.
The finalists were selected by the judging panel of David Miller, Lapo Ancillotti and Professor Kate McGrath.

The winner of each category will be announced at an event on Thursday 4 June as part of the first Hutt STEMM Festival.
