Foodback: Your Feedback for Healthier Food Places in Wairoa

Foodback: Your Feedback for Healthier Food Places in Wairoa

The Foodback project is coming to Wairoa! It is led by a small team of researchers, Stefanie Vandevijvere and Rachel Williamson, who are passionate about health and wellbeing. At present we are designing an app that will collect information about healthy food places in Wairoa and we would love to have your help. We’re thinking that the app will gather information on the kinds of food that are being sold in local schools, ECEs, supermarkets, takeaways, fast food outlets, sport clubs, and outdoor spaces around Wairoa. All of the information that people collect will be fed back to participants and to ‘change agents’ in the community. It will show people where the healthy ‘hot spots’ are and indicate how well the schools, supermarkets, sport clubs and food outlets are doing. It is just an idea, however, and we’d love to hear what you think about it.

Please come along to a meeting to talk about the project. We’re sure that you will have great ideas and we’d love to hear them!

We will be in Wairoa at the Wairoa Community Centre, 33 Marine Parade on Tuesday 7 July from 1:00 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. and again from 5:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. Please come to one of these two meetings.

Free, healthy kai will be served at the meetings and childcare will be available if you’d like it.
