Earthquake update #3 QLDC

Mt Aspiring Road will remain closed at Glen Finnon bluff overnight due to the risk of rockfall after this afternoon’s earthquake.

QLDC Chief Executive Adam Feeley said contractors would carry out an aerial inspection tomorrow morning and an update on the road’s status is expected by 10am.

The Arrowtown Athenaeum Hall is also closed as a precaution tonight, pending an engineer’s inspection tomorrow, while the inspection of other public buildings in the district is continuing.

Visual inspections of critical infrastructure across the district, including water and wastewater systems has confirmed no damage or interruption to supply.

QLDC’s emergency operations centre is standing down.
