Trish’s Deserving Subway® Windfall
An Upper Hutt good Samaritan who does voluntary work for the community has won a $10,000 trip to Hawaii through the Subway® Summer Promotion.
Trish Houghton was presented with her prize today at the Upper Hutt Subway® store, and plans to be Hawaii-bound later in the year, ticking off one of her bucket list wishes at the same time.
She won a free coke originally at the start of this competition and thought nothing more of it. However, when Subway rang to give her the news of the ultimate prize, she couldn’t believe it. “I have never won anything as big as this,” she says. “I enter competitions, as I believe you have to be in to win.” Trish is glad the prize was won at the newly renovated Upper Hutt Subway store.
Trish hasn’t done a lot of travel, but has always wanted to sit on a beach somewhere on a tropical island. Her trip includes flights, seven nights’ accommodation and breakfast for two. Trish also receives $2,000 spending money on top of the $10,000 holiday. She plans to visit Pearl Harbour, attend a Luau, enjoy the warm sparkling beaches of Waikiki, see the diverse natural scenery and is looking forward to the world-class shopping of Honolulu.
Trish didn’t have far to go to pick up her prize. She works in a salon above the Upper Hutt Subway® as a Beauty Therapist. Her son likes to eat Subway and ‘made her’ buy his favourite sub, Meatballs and a Coke to enter the competition. Customers, who purchased a sub and a drink from the Coke range between 22nd December and 1st February, received an entry number on their receipt for daily and weekly prizes, with the grand prize being the Hawaiian trip of a life time.
Upper Hutt Subway® Store Manager Bruce Christie said he was delighted such a deserving winner had been found. “Trish will love the opportunity to relax with the knowledge that everything is taken care of. Congratulations and we look forward hearing tales of indulgence upon her return!"
