10 year old airlifted
Last night the Tauranga based Trustpower TECT Rescue helicopter was dispatched to Coromandel township to airlift a 10 year old local girl to Waikato hospital for specialist surgery to repair a badly broken arm. The girl had fallen 2 metres from a pergola, landing awkwardly resulting in the serious arm injury.
She along with her mother were flown to Hamilton for specialist treatment, her condition was stable.
The rescue helicopter was used because of distance to Waikato hospital and the nature of the injury.
