Change to combined Saturday bus service
A minor route change is on its way for Wanganui’s combined Saturday bus service, making it easier for residents of the Jane Winston Retirement Village and surrounding area to enjoy bus travel.
From Saturday 7 March, Horizons Regional Council’s combined Saturday service will travel the same route as the Springvale/St John’s Hill route via Oakland Avenue. This is a permanent change that is not expected to affect service timings.
Horizons senior transport planner Wayne Wallace says the change has met a positive response from passengers.
“We want to ensure bus travel is accessible and affordable for the people of Wanganui and we had feedback from passengers that this minor change would make a huge difference in their ability to catch the bus,” he says.
More information about the change and Horizons’ bus services in general is available via Horizons’ website www.horizons.govt.nz Hard copy timetables are also available from Horizons’ office in Guyton Street, the Wanganui District Council, the i-Site and the Tranzit offices in Ridgway Street.
