Festival Hub opens at Capital E Central

Capital E at 4 Queens Wharf has transformed their public free indoor playground into a free Festival Hub of creativity.
Children can get their hands dirty while engaging in three new weird, wacky and fun creative activities. The Festival
Hub launches on Saturday 21 February and will continue to Friday 20 March.
Activities featured coincide with shows part of the Capital E National Arts Festival 2015. Create a Beard is inspired by
Trick of the Light Production’s, Beards! Beards!
Beards! which takes place on Saturday 21 March at 10am & 1pm at Circa Theatre.
In the Festival Hub, children will be encouraged to design and make their own beard with funky materials from Saturday
21 February.
Created from the play Dirt & Other Delicious Ingredients, Capital E’s activity, Dirt is nothing short of messy! Children will get the opportunity to
play with kinetic sand, while smelling a range of curious scents. Each child will be allotted a 10-15 min time to play
in order to ensure they have an excellent experience! Dirt will begin 2 March and runs until 21 March from 9.30am-3.30pm
daily, Mon – Sat.
The final activity is inspired by the play, Squaring the Wheel. Squaring is an activity where children will be able to
bring life to ordinary, junk and household items by adding them to an interactive installation. This activity will start
7 March to 21 March 2 March and runs until 21 March from 9.30am-3.30pm daily, Mon – Sat.
Event spokesperson for Capital E, Karen Carey says, “The activities planned for the Festival at Capital E Central are
fantastic opportunities for children to have fun and get their hands messy. With three different activities planned
there will be something for every child to enjoy!”
The activities are free and do not require bookings or tickets in advance. Pop in to the Festival Hub in Capital E, 4
Queens Wharf for some creative and messy fun.
