Results in for Lyttelton–Mt Herbert by-election
Preliminary results show Denis Aldridge is the highest-polling candidate in the Lyttelton–Mt Herbert Community Board by-election.
So far, 1579 votes (34 per cent of eligible voters) have been received. The preliminary results show:
• Denis Aldridge (Independent), 869 votes
• Jed O’Donoghue (Independent), 716 votes
Each of Christchurch’s eight Community Boards comprises five directly-elected members, along with their ward’s elected Councillors, who represent and act as an advocate for the interests of their community.
Voting closed at noon today (Tuesday 17 February). With five special votes still to process, it is hoped that the final declaration of results will take place later this week.
Once the results are final, Denis Aldridge will be sworn in at the Wednesday 18 March Lyttelton–Mt Herbert Community Board meeting.
