Motorway Improvement Work - Oteha Valley Rd to Silverdale

The NZ Transport Agency advises motorists there will be Bridge Painting, Line Marking, and Bridge Joint Repair work on the Northern Motorway (State Highway 1) Northbound between Oteha Valley and Silverdale, on the nights of 17th-19th and 22nd of February 2015.

The work will be carried out at night between 10.00pm and 05.00am, due to reduced traffic volumes and to minimise disruption to road users. During this time the BP Service Station Silverdale and other shops will be closed, as well as the Toll Booths at the BP Service Station.

The Transport Agency says drivers travelling north on SH1 should make sure they have enough fuel to get to the next available service station and drivers are asked to follow the signposted detour routes.

Please note this work is weather dependent. In the event of bad weather, it will be postponed to the next available evening. This work is an important part of the maintenance programme to ensure the motorway is kept in a good and safe condition for all road users.
