Botany Town Centre’s Summer Fun Run And Walk Adds to Success
Media Release February 2015
BOTANY TOWN CENTRE’S SUMMER FUN
RUN AND WALK
ADDS TO ITS SUCCESS
Whether you’re the next Peter-Snell-in-training, or couldn’t tell Sir Peter Snell from Sir Peter Jackson, love or hate it we’ve all learned of the importance, benefit and personal reward received from a bit of exercise.
Now in its seventh year, Botany Town Centre continues to encourage locals of all fitness levels, running ability, and speed agility to enter the Botany Town Centre Summer Fun Run and Walk.
Extending the rewards and the benefit locals make by entering, Botany Town Centre has pledged to donate $1 for every Summer Fun Run and Walk entry to Dress for Success Auckland. Botany Town Centre marketing manager Desiree Clark believes the annual Summer Fun Run and Walk is a great opportunity to get out and have fun with friends and family, all the while doing good for those in the community who need a helping hand.
“Hosting the annual Botany Town Centre Summer Fun Run and Walk is a real privilege for us. It’s great to see so many familiar faces at these events – even those with a distaste for running keep turning up and giving it a go because they really enjoy interacting with those in the local community, which is fantastic.
“This year will prove additionally rewarding through Botany Town Centre’s long-standing relationship with and support of Dress for Success Auckland. We admire the work they do to empower women in our community, and it’s an honour to be helping the organisation continue to make a positive impact on women’s lives.”
Dress for Success Auckland Executive Director Lani French was thrilled when she learned the community event was supporting the not-for-profit business.
“We are grateful for any donation, whether that be in the form of time, money, clothing or accessories, it is the generosity of the local community and supporters that ensure our continued success. Dress for Success exists to promote the independence - economic and otherwise - of women and their families by providing professional clothing, styling, confidence, advice and a network of support to help them succeed in securing employment and contributing positively in both their personal and professional lives.
“Botany Town Centre and the people of the east Auckland community should be very proud to be taking part in this event, not only as they get out and get active, but they’re giving Auckland women who really need it, a helping hand.”
