The Nappy Lady returns to Hastings
The Nappy Lady will return to Hastings to hold two workshops next week.
Waste Minimisation Planner Angela Atkins says “The Nappy Lady has proved very popular each time she has visited Hastings. These two workshops will be fun and entertaining while bringing a serious message about how you can save money and help eliminate waste from your daily living.”
Angela Atkins says “Space in the waste free parenting workshop is limited so I suggest that you book as soon as possible. The Waste Free Living workshop is free and open to anyone.”
Waste Free Parenting Wednesday 18th February 6pm – 8pm Hastings Environment Centre
In this 2 hour workshop you will not only learn lots about modern cloth nappy options but you will also get some fun ideas about other ways of minimising waste at home with a baby. The Nappy Lady will show you numerous ways of reducing waste at home, introduce you to sustainable household products and demonstrate how the environment can be affected by the choices you make.
Cost $25. Your admission fee entitles you to a free pack of cloth nappies valued at $100
Waste Free Living Workshop Tuesday 17th February 6pm – 7pm Hastings Library
This is a new workshop for the Nappy Lady and is open to anyone. You will find out about really cool products that can help reduce your waste for your family. Bring along your partner, parents, friends and neighbours.
The Nappy Lady says “The first hour of the Waste Free Living Workshop focuses on ways in which you can reduce waste with a new baby. It includes discussion around what you do and don’t need for your baby, dealing with household food scraps and baby food waste.”
She says “Council waste audits in NZ show that between 8% and 19% of domestic waste is made up of disposable nappies. In the second hour of this workshop, I will focus on cloth nappies, how to wash them efficiently, washing with water restrictions and how to choose which nappies will suit your baby best.”
