Stranded Dog Rescued on Wellington’s South Coast
Two members of the public rescued a dog stranded off the South Coast this morning in Wellington.
The dog, pictured below, appeared to have walked out onto the rocks and been trapped by the incoming tide.
Carl Meyer, an Island Bay resident , said he saw the dog when he was driving along the Esplanade toward Island Bay at about 11am this morning.
Carl and another member of the public, Joshua Graham, managed to coax the dog into the water after about thirty minutes.
Community members witnessing the incident said they did not recognise the dog from the area, and it was not wearing a collar or any form of identification.
Three members of the police were also called to the scene.
