Canopy Free Conversations

Canopy Free Conversations

Mayor Nick Leggett is calling on his community to come to a free barbecue in the new canopy-free city centre this Monday.

“Apart from checking out the space now that the canopies have been removed it’s an opportunity for those with concerns about security issues to talk about them.

This is an opportunity for residents to come and take ownership of the issue - and this area of the city - for themselves,” Mr Leggett said.

“Porirua needs to talk about positive community-based solutions and a free BBQ is a great way for everyone to engage.”

What: BBQ to celebrate removal of the Porirua City Centre canopies and to talk about security concerns.

When: 11.45am to 1.30pm, Monday 2 February 2015

Where: Near the I-site in Cobham Court

Who: Porirua City Council Mayor Nick Leggett and Porirua City Councillors
