SH1 Victoria Park Viaduct Upgrade - progress update

SH1 Victoria Park Viaduct Upgrade - progress update

The Auckland Motorway Alliance is making steady progress installing 1.5km of new steel barrier and 50 LED lights on the Victoria Park Viaduct. We are on track to finish the upgrade by Wednesday 18 March 2015.

Work started on Monday 5 January and so far, more than half of the lights and approximately 600 metres of barrier have been installed. Crews are working on both viaducts at once to complete the work as soon as possible. You can view progress photos online at http://www.nzta.govt.nz/projects/victoria-park-viaduct/gallery.html.

Thank you for your patience and co-operation while we complete this work.

Overnight SH1 closures remain in place until 18 March 2015:

• SH1 southbound closed between the Fanshawe Street off-ramp and Hobson Street on-ramp

• 10pm-5am, Sunday to Thursday

• No closures on Fridays or Saturdays

• The Cook Street off-ramp and Port/SH16 link are also closed

• Please follow the signposted detour via Fanshawe Street and Hobson Street to rejoin SH16 or SH1 at the Hobson Street on-ramp

• Northbound traffic using the Victoria Park Tunnel is unaffected.

More information is available on the project website at www.nzta.govt.nz/vpv. Anyone can sign-up for these email updates via the website as well.

The Victoria Park Viaduct Upgrade is part of the Summer Season Journeys campaign being delivered by the Transport Agency. Plan ahead to avoid delays to your summer travel by checking out the Summer Season website online at www.nzta.govt.nz/summerseason.

Once again, Thank you for your patience and co-operation while we complete this work.
