Network summary for week ending 18 January 2015
Electricity
There were car v. pole incidents in Mt Roskill, Albany Heights, Warkworth and Brookby during the week, with no damage
sustained by Vector assets. There was also a spectacular crane v. pole in Grafton on Saturday evening.
Emergency services advised us of house fires in Mt Eden, Glen Eden and Whenuapai during the week. For safety, our field
crews isolated power to these addresses.
Our contractors advised of a tree branch landing on a customer’s service line in Papakura during the week. Power was
isolated for safety until the branch could be removed. Trees had to be removed from lines in Taupaki as well.
Emergency services advised us of an open pillar/transformer door in Manurewa during the week. Our crews made the site
safe, and the asset was referred to supervisors for further work.
Gas
Emergency services advised us of gas odours in Paraparaumu (2), Gisborne, Newmarket and in Taupo during the week. There
were also cases of third party damage in Titirangi North, Hillsborough and Hamilton.
