Democracy Action Launch Email Writing Campaign on Mana Whenua Provisions
WEDNESDAY 10 DECEMBER 2014
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Democracy Action has launched an online tool for Aucklanders to tell Len Brown and the Council what they think of the Mana Whenua provisions that affect up to 18,000 Auckland property owners.
Democracy Action founder, Lee Short says:
“Democracy Action is giving Aucklanders a way for their voices to be heard by the Council’s decision-makers.”
“The response we have received has been fantastic. Our subscribed supporters alone have already sent several thousand emails to Auckland’s representatives."
The Mana Whenua provisions have not gone through the standard submission process and infringe every citizen’s basic property rights along with establishing a significant financial burden on future land development.
“We’ve created a tool to ensure that the concerns of Aucklanders, including the more than 1,100 people who submitted against the Mana Whenua provisions, won’t be ignored.”
The tool is online now at democracyaction.org.nz
