Minister welcomed to Mangere

Minister welcomed to Mangere

Minister for Social Housing Hon Paula Bennett was in Mangere today to celebrate the reopening of Housing New Zealand’s refurbished Mangere office and the Corporation’s ongoing commitment to the local community.

“After more than 20 years of service, our Waddon Place office has had a much-needed makeover to create a more welcoming and user-friendly environment for staff and for customers”, says Regional Manager Denise Fink

With over 3000 tenants living in Housing New Zealand rental homes in Mangere, the office plays an important role in the community. Mrs Fink says its refurbishment, which includes new carpet, modern heating and an improved office layout, reflects its place and its people – including the largest Pacific Island community in the southern hemisphere.

“While relocating our staff to other offices allowed us to complete the refurbishment safely and as quickly as possible, it’s great to be back in our Mangere home, and even better that the Minister could be here to celebrate our return with us.”

“We are delighted with the end result and know we will continue to remain at the heart of this community for many more years to come”, Mrs Fink said.

Additional information

• 4,300 rental properties managed by Mangere office in Mangere, Mangere Bridge, Favona and Otahuhu.
