Growing community leadership in Canterbury
Valuing our community leaders in a very real grassroots way and recognising that recovery is not just about buildings
and roads, but the psychological recovery of our communities is at the heart of The Leadership in Community (LinC)
Project, kicking off on Monday 8 December.
“We have worked with a wide range of parties to design the project as a way of supporting the vibrant network of
innovation and passionate community leaders around the city” says Chris Jansen, from Leadership Lab which is
facilitating the LinC project.
Forty individuals have been selected to participate in the LinC Project, a leadership development initiative that aims
to support and strengthen a wide range of initiatives in communities, sporting and cultural networks around Greater
Christchurch.
“We received close to 100 applications from across Greater Christchurch for the 40 places available in the first cohort
of the LinC Project, a clear indication of the enthusiasm and passion of our grass-roots community leaders to carry on
the fantastic work that many started post-earthquake,” says Chris Jansen.
