Route K road works start next week: expect minor delays
Motorists travelling towards Hamilton or Rotorua via Takitimu Drive and the Route K toll road this month are being urged
to drive with extra care and expect minor delays, as contractors carry out major pavement repair works.
Works start on the State Highway 2 (SH2) off ramp to Route K at 6am, Tuesday December 9 and are expected to be finished
by 7pm Friday December 12.
The hours of work will be from 6am to 7pm each day.
The NZ Transport Agency says Route K will remain open, however the off ramp exit point will be moved 300m north towards
Bethlehem and the off ramp surface may be uneven at times.
Stop/go traffic management and a 50km/h speed restriction will be in place on that stretch of Route K and the
neighbouring northbound sections of Tamatea Arikinui Drive (SH2) and Fifteenth Avenue.
The works are weather dependent and may be postponed a week if necessary.
The Transport Agency wishes to thank drivers for their patience and Tauranga City Council for their cooperation, while
these works are underway.
