Feedback sought on new bus options
Feedback sought on new bus options
Residents are being
asked their opinion on a bus between Levin and Waikanae and
another between Wanganui and Palmerston North as part of a
Horizons Regional Council investigation into service
feasibility.
Anyone interested in buses between the centres is encouraged have their say via survey forms available from the Horizons website www.horizons.govt.nz , Horowhenua District Council, Wanganui District Council and Horizons Regional Council offices.
Horizons transport manager Phil Hindrup says the surveys are designed to gauge demand and, if the services prove popular, they could lead to a trial.
“At this stage we want to know what the community thinks; whether buses between these centres would be well utilised, when they would need to run and how much people would be willing to pay,” Mr Hindrup says.
“We ask that all feedback is returned by January 20th, allowing us to review and present this back to our Passenger Transport Committee in the New Year.”
More information about the surveys is available via the Passenger Transport section of Horizons’ website www.horizons.govt.nz
