Song and dance sorted for this year’s Christmas in the Hutt

Christmas in the Hutt is set to impress with big-name local acts, community groups, favourite radio hosts and more food and entertainment than you can shake a (hot-dog) stick at.

The event on Saturday 6 December, starting at 6pm, is the biggest in the Wellington region and will see 20,000 people head to Hutt Recreation Ground for a night of Christmas celebration.

The Rodger Fox Wellington Jazz Orchestra will perform; as will Ray Woolf, Erna Ferry, Lisa Tomlins, Andrea Sanders, Grant Sullivan, Stephanie Paris, Kirsten Te Rito, Moira Jones and Deanne Kreig.

The team from The Breeze are the ringmasters on stage with Stu and Katrina taking the first half, then Steve and Cath wrapping up.

On the ground there’s a bouncy castle, a merry-go-round, face painting and a giant slide for kids.

Hungry people will find dumplings, donuts, ice-cream, crepes, gourmet burgers, sliders, coffee, pizza, potatoes on a stick and more but are also welcome to bring their own picnic.

Santa will arrive to check whether children are naughty or nice and then Lower Hutt company Fused FX will end the show with their spectacular fireworks finale.

Keep up to date with the event at www.christmasinthehutt.org.nz orwww.facebook.com/christmasinthehutt
The postponement date is Sunday 7 December with the show starting at 7.30pm to be followed by fireworks.
