OMV marine consent application

OMV marine consent application

The Environmental Protection Authority is considering an application by OMV New Zealand Ltd (OMV) for a marine consent to complete its development drilling programme in the Maari field in the Taranaki Basin.

The hearing, which is being heard by a Decision-making Committee chaired by Alick Shaw, is expected to be adjourned today.

The Committee will then consider whether it has sufficient information to formally close the hearing. Once the hearing is formally closed the Decision-making Committee has 20 working days to consider its decision.

A decision is currently scheduled to be made by 18 December. The decision will be released as soon as practicable after it has been made. The appeal period closes 15 working days after the decision has been provided to the applicant.

For further information on the application, see http://www.epa.govt.nz/EEZ/omv/Pages/default.aspx
