CITY TALKS: Patrick Clifford
Free public lecture by one of New Zealand’s most respected architects
City Gallery Wellington, Civic Square Monday 17 November, 6pm
Architect Patrick Clifford presents an illustrated discussion on his career. Clifford is the current New Zealand Institute of Architects 2014 Gold Medallist — the highest honour in New Zealand architecture awarded for career achivement — and a director at Architectus, which has offices in Auckland, Christchurch, Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, and Shanghai. Under his leadership Architectus has created an unrivalled record of award-winning projects across all building types — houses and schools, offices and apartments, stadiums, theatres, libraries and courts. The firm also designs streets and urban spaces.
Clifford is an astute and articulate architectural commentator. In this presentation he will discuss three decades of work, from graduate schemes to his latest projects in Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch and Australia.
The first fourty people through the door receive a free copy of the NZIA-published book that celebrates Clifford’s achievements.
The presentation will be followed by a book signing and refreshments.
City Talks is an initiative of the New Zealand Institute of Architects Wellington Branch and presented in partnership with City Gallery Wellington.
