Life Centre Open Day
Life Centre Open Day, Saturday 15 November, 2014, 10am - 5pm
A ‘little gem of a place’ tucked away a back
street in Stoke has been carefully crafted and dreamed into
being by a quiet and humble man with a vision.
Over the past three years Brian Brown has created a community space that houses many different and beneficial activities for the wellbeing of the community.
“I believed in the need for this space so strongly my son and I moved into the centre, spent a year re-fitting the interior and even took the very scary step of letting my interior decorating business go so I could direct all of my energy into this venture,” he says.
The Life Centre now attracts teachers, speakers and workshop facilitators from around New Zealand and the world.
Brian says the centre caters for a range of ages and abilities: “Different age groups are catered to with Circus Yoga for kids running alongside the adult classes and different ability levels are embraced with a plethora of class styles available.”
This Saturday The Life Centre is holding a fun open day for families. This is a chance for the community to come and have a look at the centre, to meet Brian and some of the staff and to try out some of what is on offer at the centre.
From 10am – 5pm on Saturday 15 November The Life Centre in Towai St Stoke will be offering games, prizes, kids and adults films, a Japanese cooking class preparing and sharing of miso soup and sushi; food and drinks, free kids and adults’ yoga classes, face painting and an improvised comedy show by special guest performers from the Body in Space theatre company.
Anyone keen to offer support or to donate goods for a silent auction should contact Brian on 03 547 8468.
