Survivor’s Guide to Auckland’s Marathon Weekend

Survivor’s Guide to Auckland’s Marathon Weekend

On Sunday morning (2 November) the ASB Auckland Marathon will be run and will cause significant disruptions to city roads and to some bus services.

There will be closures affecting the lower North Shore, the city centre and Tamaki Drive.

Full details can be seen here: https://at.govt.nz/bus-train-ferry/service-announcements/bus-diversions-due-to-asb-auckland-marathon/

There are parking restrictions in place as well, these are well signposted, the times vary with some restrictions applying from Saturday night.

The marathon starts in Devonport so there will be pressure on roads and public transport in that area. The event organisers have arranged chartered ferry services and buses to get people to the starting line.

Details of the special ferries and buses can be seen here: https://at.govt.nz/bus-train-ferry/events/asb-auckland-marathon/

Ferry and North Shore bus tickets must be purchased when completing your entry form for the marathon. Ferry tickets are limited to around 7000 passengers travelling from Auckland to Devonport and will be sold on a first come first served basis.

Chartered bus services will also operate on the North Shore via the Northern Busway and Takapuna.
