Buses to stop on airport grounds

Buses to stop on airport grounds

Horizons Regional Council buses to and from Feilding will travel via the Palmerston North Airport terminal from Monday 3 November, making it even easier for passengers to catch a plane.

Horizons transport manager Phil Hindrup says buses currently stop on Airport Drive but the new stop directly outside the terminal adds a level of convenience for those travelling by sky.

“Palmerston North Airport Ltd approached us with the idea of including a stop right outside the terminal. They’ve committed to building a new shelter and we’ve committed to giving it a go for the next six months to see if the stop can work within the current timetable,” Mr Hindrup says.

“It is a trial and we want to know what passengers think before we reevaluate in six months time.”

Bus services to and from Boys’ and Girls’ High Schools will not be affected by the change.

Feedback on the new stop can be provided via email to transport@horizons.govt.nz or by contacting Horizons’ transport team on tollfree 0508 800 800.”

Passengers from Palmerston North seeking transport to the airport can catch the Feilding bus from the Main Street terminal.

Free transfers from other Palmerston North services apply within one hour of purchase. See Horizons websitewww.horizons.govt.nz for further details and approximate airport stop times.
