New Head of King’s College’s Welcomed
King’s College this week welcomed its new Headmaster, Mr Michael Leach’s with a pōwhiri at the Otahuhu campus which was attended by several hundred Botany Downs Secondary College students and staff.
Chairman, Mr Ross Green, says Mr Leach’s appointment has fulfilled the Board of Governors search for a ‘visionary educational leader” and the need to consider the high-tech vision for the future of education alongside the traditional areas King’s excels in, like sport and academic achievement.
Mr Leach says he has been humbled by the welcome he has received from the King’s community.
“It is an exciting time in education within New Zealand and I know that King’s College will be providing the very best learning opportunities.
The College is able to personalise the learning journey for each student. This is so important because as educationalists know, there are many distractions in learning and being able to focus on what is the best for each student helps set those rich goals that improve engagement and outcomes.”
