Adding a Dollar Will Make a Difference for Southland Teens via Youth Charity Blue Light
Following a 3 week fundraising campaign, Warehouse Stationery stores in the southern region, along with a huge help from
their customers, raised a fantastic $11,056 for the youth charity Blue Light, which works in partnership with the New
Zealand Police.
From 14th July to 3rd August team members from the 13 stores raised money through an add-a-dollar campaign where they
asked customers at the checkout whether they would like to add a dollar to their total purchase.
Blue Light Organisational Development Manager, Brendon Crompton said it’s wonderful to have the support of their local
Warehouse Stationery stores this year:
“We are so excited to have the opportunity to raise awareness and funds through the network of Warehouse Stationery
Stores in the Southern Region. It’s thanks to this support that Blue Light is able to help young people in this area who
require ‘a little direction in life. Funds raised through this partnership will provide the opportunity for local youth
to attend a Blue Light life skills program, where they will learn practical skills to improve and manage their lives
moving forward.”
Warehouse Stationery Store Manager at Invercargill, Tracy Pearce, is excited about this new community partnership.
“Warehouse Stationery stores within our region are passionate about our communities and are committed to supporting
families with school children’ and education. We fully support the work that Blue Light does in this area to empower
young people and at risk youth.”
Stores involved in the fundraising campaign include Ashburton ($736), Belfast ($857), Dunedin ($972), Dunedin South
($539), Hornby ($551), Invercargill ($1,487), Linwood ($1,221), Oamaru ($64), Papanui ($1,215), Rangiora ($632),
Riccarton ($1,403), South City ($761) and Timaru ($616).
