Horizons seeks feedback on Feilding buses
Feilding’s
bus service is up for review and Horizons Regional Council
wants to hear from all current, potential and non bus
users.
The current service, operated by Tranzit on behalf of Horizons, provides transport around town as well as into Palmerston North every Monday through Saturday.
Horizons is now seeking feedback as to whether this meets the needs of the Feilding community or whether they’d like to see some change.
Chair of Horizons’ Passenger Transport Committee Rachel Keedwell says 91,496 trips were made on Feilding bus services in 2013/14. This is down 2,199 on 2012/13.
“Although we haven’t seen a huge drop in patronage, it has dipped over the past year. We want to know what residents feel is most important in their bus service and what improvements could be made to bring non-users onboard,” she says.
“Surveys are available to download via the Horizons website. Hard copies will also be available at the Information Centre later this week and the survey will run as an insert in the Feilding Herald on October 16.
“Whether you’re a regular bus user or have never stepped aboard, I encourage you to take this opportunity to share your thoughts and tell us what you’d like to see going forward.”
Surveys should be returned to the Feilding Information Centre, the Manawatu District Council office or any Horizons bus driver by end of day Friday October 31. These can also be posted back to Horizons’ Transport Team, Private Bag 11025, Manawatu Mail Centre, Palmerston North 4442.
Feedback will be considered by Horizons’ Passenger Transport Committee at the Committee’s next meeting in November.
More information about the current service is available via the Passenger Transport section of Horizons’ website www.horizons.govt.nz
