A concept plan for a new playground at Windsor
Park in Hastings will be unveiled at an open day this
Sunday.
The playground is to be constructed in an area of
Splash Planet that will be opened up to the public as it
currently receives limited use. The Hastings Host Lions Club
will partner with Hastings District Council in developing
the play area, which will be named the “Lions
Playground.
Councillor Sandra Hazlehurst says “The first round of consultation on the playground has brought forward some really great ideas and we have incorporated them into this concept plan. The plan includes pathways, a community BBQ, toilet facilities and new play pieces for children of all ages.”
Sandra Hazlehurst says “The open day will give the community a chance to give us feedback on the plan and some further ideas on how we can make this a really stunning playground.”
Everyone is invited to the open day, which will be held this Sunday, 12 October from 11am at Windsor Park, on the corner Grove and Sylvan Road. The kids will be entertained with a bouncy castle, face painting and there will be a free sausage sizzle.
The Hastings Host Lions Club will co-ordinate the development of programmes and events that will make use of the play area and surrounding park, once the facility is completed.
