Fatal motor vehicle crash on SH79 Geraldine-Fairlie Highway

Emergency services are currently at the scene of a fatal crash that occured shortly after midday on SH79 Geraldine-Fairlie Highway involving two vehicles.
Three people are injured, two of them seriously. A further person has been confirmed deceased at the scene.
SH79 is currently closed between Geraldine and Fairlie and diversions will be in place for some time.
Police urge the media and public to stay away from the area until further notice.
