Annual BNI Black Tie Charity Evening for Nurse Maude Hospice
Annual BNI Black Tie Charity Evening for Nurse Maude Hospice planned for November 8th at Rydges Latimer Square
Last
year’s highly successful event to be reprised with hopes
to raise even more money
Christchurch – Monday 29th September 2014 – The Nurse Maude Black Tie Charity Evening organised by BNI (Business Network International) will take place this year in the ballroom of the newly-built and recently opened Rydges Latimer Square on November 8th. Last year’s event involved over 65 local businesses and raised nearly $8,000 for Nurse Maude Hospice in Christchurch so there are hopes that this year the charity night will bring in even more for the worthy cause.
Nurse Maude
provides palliative care and support free of charge to
patients and their families across Canterbury, pouring
thousands of hours of nursing into this care every year.
Sue Bramwell, General Manager Marketing at Nurse
Maude says there has been a great deal of interest in the
charity evening. “An enormous amount of work has gone into
it on behalf of our patients and their families who receive
care and support at the Nurse Maude Hospice. We have been
caring for the people of Canterbury since 1896, and we hope
the community can throw their support behind this
event.”
According to Bramwell, Nurse Maude has a
long and supportive relationship with BNI. “The
organisation’s generosity over the years has allowed us to
provide patients and their families with the care and
support they deserve.” Bramwell says last year’s
inaugural event was a great success and this year can only
be bigger and better. “We’re very grateful for BNI’s
ongoing support of the Hospice,” she says, “the
relationship is very important to us and charity events like
this are a vital part of keeping our service
running.”
Graham Southwell, National Director for
BNI, says this year’s event will be stepped up to bring a
new experience of fine dining and fun to the evening. “The
night marks the beginning of a big week in Christchurch (the
Cup and Show Week) so we are hoping to get people from all
over Canterbury who come to town to support this event. This
year’s event will have an exciting array of auction items
that party goers can bid on and an assortment of
entertainment.”
