New traffic management
Aranui/ Wainoni – closure at intersection Pages and Breezes Roads
Breezes Road will be closed north of Pages Road intersection for the new wastewater vacuum main to be installed. This work is taking place 24 hours a day until late October. ONGOING WORK – Central City
Moorhouse Ave – reduced lanes westbound, also Montreal south of Moorhouse
• The work in the westbound lanes between Durham and Montreal has two more weeks to go. Durham St intersection at Moorhouse south is one way southbound only. The northbound lane on the overbridge from Sydenham is closed.
• Montreal St between Moorhoue Ave and Hazeldean Road (south of Moorhouse) is also getting the wastewater main repaired.
Antigua St, Winchcombe and Alfred Streets - all open.
Walker St - road shoulder closure, then from 6 October closed at the Durham St end.
Welles St - one-way westbound only.
Montreal St - one lane past the Downer work site between Walker and Wilmer Streets (south of St Asaph, north of Moorhouse). Three weeks work along Montreal repairing storm water pipes.

ONGOING WORK – suburbs
Riccarton/ Ilam – Kahu Road traffic closure/side street access to Riccarton House
Kahu Road (the link between Kotare St near the university/ Medbury Boys School corner and Kilmarnock St/Hagley Park) has been closed until mid November for the brick arched bridge outside Christchurch Boys’ High to be repaired. Crews are being double-shifted six days a week to speed up this project.
Drivers can still drive into the grounds of Riccarton House via Titoki St to get to the Riccarton Bistro and the weekend markets. Humphreys Drive/ Linwood Ave, Ferrymead – night work, detour, times changing

Wainoni - Kerrs Rd
Kerrs Road between Wildwood Ave and the Pannell Ave/ Wainoni Rd intersection, will be one-way heading north as early as Wednesday, 1 October. Southbound motorists will be detoured via Pannell Ave and Wildwood Ave.
Fendalton - Poynder Ave
Poynder Ave, between Garden Road and Rossall St, will be closed as early as Friday, 3 October. Connecting streets Garden Road and Wairarapa Tce also remain closed. McConnell Dowell is carrying out a major upgrade of the city's main wastewater system.
Shirley - Emmett St
Emmett St, between Orontes St and Acheson Ave, will be closed in stages from Monday 29 September. One crew will begin work at the Acheson Ave intersection and another at the Orion St intersection.
Shirley - Hills Road
Hill Road at the intersection with Whitehall St, will be reduced to one-lane. Access will be maintained for northbound traffic (travelling towards Marshland Rd). Motorists heading south towards the city will be detoured via surrounding streets (Dawe, Skipton and Acheson Ave).
St Albans - Springfield Road, between Radnor and Kinloch
Two months work on Springfield Road and adjoining Radnor, Kinloch and Albany Streets. Major wastewater network repairs by SCIRT’s Fletcher team. Temporary road closures. http://strongerchristchurch.govt.nz/work/activity/5609
Linwood - Aldwins Road
Aldwins Road will be reduced to one lane southbound at the Marcroft St intersection for another week.
Aranui/ Wainoni – expect delays Cuthberts
Cuthberts Road work is in progress so please expect delays along this road between now and the end of this year. Wastewater chambers of vacuum systems are being installed and new pipes. http://strongerchristchurch.govt.nz/work/activity/5523
Bromley lift stations Maces Road and Wickham St
New wastewater lift stations are being installed on Maces Road and Wickham St. Two-way traffic using traffic lights will be used on Maces Road but one way on Wickham St.
Aranui - Rowan Ave
Vacuum wastewater work that was delayed along Rowan Ave, south of Pages Rd, has started. There will be a detour for northbound traffic and a road closure at some point. http://strongerchristchurch.govt.nz/work/activity/5563
UPCOMING
Addington / Middleton / Tower Junction – a year of work starts October
Read our work notice for this major block of wastewater and storm water work about to start on some busy roads to the south and west of Hagley Park. Crews are starting work on Whiteleigh Ave around 7 October, aiming to get the work which will most affect Addington Raceway over by Cup and Show Week in November. This first segment of work should take about two weeks, including night and weekend work in the Lincoln Road intersection. Wainoni Road bridge – rescheduled
The Wainoni Road bridge connecting Wainoni with New Brighton Road was to be closed to all vehicle traffic for one month for road repairs, from early October. It is now being rescheduled.
