Art Explosion
Artrium Gallery and other retailers are all dressed up in red, participating in the WOW Retailer's Window Competition. Over 50 retailers around Wellington are participating this year. The overall theme is to include items that the retailers sell, all using the colour RED as well. This colour really makes an impact when you see the windows from the street! I can definitely say WOW to this.
Artrium Gallery's window is called "Art Explosion". It features over 75 pieces of newly created small art to fill up the entire window wall. This has a dramatic effect and looks amazing. The centerpiece art is a 3-D bust sculpture created by Donna ODonoghue. The surrounding pieces were all created by Ami Brown (Gallery Owner) and local artist, Kylie Law. The art itself creates a dress, and brick style wall surrounding it. A few of the artworks are actually suspended in space and crashing through the front window! As the title implies - Art Explosion! If you have a chance, you should come by to see this window, and be amazed. Artrium Gallery is located at 310 Tinakori Road. More photos are uploaded to their Facebook page and on Artrium's website www.artriumgallery.co.nz
The WOW Retailer's Windows will be on display until the end of WOW - October 12th. #WOWinWLG to see other retailer participating.
