Keep New Zealand Beautiful Week is underway!
You may have noticed it looking a bit tidier in your neighbourhood as Keep New Zealand Beautiful Week got underway on Sunday. Every year, thousands of Kiwi’s get involved with the event to help to clean-up their local patch and organisers have been thrilled by the response this year.
“There has been a huge increase in registered clean-ups from last year” says Heather Saunderson, General Manager of Keep New Zealand Beautiful. “This represents a massive contribution from communities around the country, with events planned from Invercargill to Tokerau Beach in Northland. New Plymouth alone registered almost 60 clean-up events and we even had a clean-up registered in the Chatham Islands. Kiwi’s from all corners of New Zealand are taking part.”
Keep New Zealand Beautiful Week is one of the largest nationwide community events held in New Zealand with over 40,000 participants. It runs to the 20th of Septemberand the final day for registrations is Wednesday 17 September. Head towww.knzbcleanupweek.co.nz, register your event details and Keep New Zealand Beautiful will send you the gloves, rubbish and recycling bags. All the event guides to assist you in the safe running of your event can be downloaded from the website. Or look through the site for an organised clean-up event you can join in your neighbourhood.
