Come planting for our parks
Pick up your spade, pull on your gloves and get involved with a community planting event to celebrate World Parks Day
2014.
The Christchurch City Council, in conjunction with Travis Wetland Trust and Trees for Canterbury, is holding a public
planting morning at Travis Wetland on Saturday 20 September from 10am -12.30pm.
Residents are encouraged to come along and do some light physical work including planting and weeding to help restore
the Travis Wetland. The event is a chance to share your ideas and meet others interested in restoring the native
biodiversity of our city.
The planting is in celebration of the sixth annual World Parks Day, aimed at recognising the global importance of parks
and green spaces.
When: Saturday 20 September 10am -12.30pm
Where: Meet at 280 Beach Road car park
What: Bring gumboots or boots, gardening gloves and suitable clothing.
