Update on stabbing incident - Pukehinau Flats, 320 Willis Street, Wellington
At about 4.10pm on Thursday 11 September police were called to the Pukehinau Flats after a man was found with injured in the car park. The 45-year-old was taken to Wellington Hospital by ambulance where it was established he had suffered multiple stab wounds to his upper body.
He underwent emergency surgery and is currently recovering in hospital from the serious injuries he sustained.
On Friday 12 September a 32 year old man of no fixed abode was arrested in relation to this incident.
He appeared in the Wellington District Court the following day on charges of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and burglary.
He has been remanded in custody to next appear on Friday 3 October 2014.
The investigation into this matter is continuing and Police ask that anyone who witnessed the incident at the Pukehinau Flats, or who may have any information of interest, to contact Wellington Police on 04 3812000, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
