Fatal House Fire in Christchurch
Emergency services were called to a fatal house fire in Parklands shortly after 4am this morning.
The single story house fire was well involved upon the arrival of the fire crews and has been extensively damaged.
7 of occupants had got out of the property but a search of the address once the fire was extinguished found one person deceased.
The death has been referred to the coroner.
Police and fire staff will be examining the scene this morning to determine the cause of the fire.
No further details are being released at this time.
