Feilding Police seek sightings of suspicious male

Friday, 12 September 2014 - 8:51am

Central

Feilding Police want to hear from anyone who has seen a man acting suspiciously near local schools after police received reports about the man following children in the past week.

Detective Felicity Cato of the Feilding CIB says: "We have received four reports in the past week about a man acting suspiciously around schools and following children."

"We do not want to alarm parents and caregivers but we do want to identify and speak to this person and also speak to anyone who may have seen a man acting suspiciously around schools and parks.

These incidents reported to Police are a timely reminder for parents and caregivers to discuss with their children how they should keep themselves safe.

"Children need to know what to do in these situations. Calling out for help and making sure Police are notified as soon as possible is vital," says Detective Cato.

If you see someone acting suspiciously in your community please call 111 at the time.

Further information about keeping your children safe is available via the link below:

Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Cato on (06) 323 0014. Alternatively information can be provided anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
