Rape accused in Court
Thursday, 11 September 2014 - 2:55pm
A 19 year-old Glen Innes man was arrested yesterday by Auckland City Police and charged in the Auckland District Court with assault and sexual violation by rape.
The arrest was made by officers investigating the July 27 alleged sexual assault of a young woman in Glen Innes' Maybury Reserve.
The man was remanded in custody and is scheduled to appear in Court again today. The investigation is ongoing so Police still want to hear from anyone who might have information that relates to the incident that reportedly involved two men, one of whom is allegedly the accused.
Any information should be sent to Detective Sergeant Neil Hilton - neil.hilton@police.govt.nz (link sends e-mail) or anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
