Tuesday, 9 September 2014 - 3:46pm
Police investigating the shooting in Ashburton last week have extended their intensive search of the Ashburton River area to include the riverbed.
Police divers from Wellington started the underwater search today looking for any other items that might be related to the investigation including an additional firearm and ammunition that may have been in the possession of the man arrested in relation to the incident.
Police would like to thank the media and public for their help in identifying and supplying information relating to the owner of the coloured mountain bike which was located last week.
Media and members of the general public are asked to continue to stay away from the Ashburton River area while the search is ongoing.
If you believe you have any information that may help with locating any personal items call Ashburton police on (03) 307 8411.
Information can also be provided anonymously to the organisation Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
