The first hearing on the Proposed District Plan starts on Tuesday 16 September and continues through to Thursday 18 September.
The topics to be covered at the hearing are:
• The whole of the Plan (approach, effect, usability of the Plan).
• Part I (Background and How to Use the Plan, Statutory Acknowledgements, Information Requirements for Resource Consents, Cross-Boundary Matters).
• Airfield Height and Noise Overlay, Airfield Zone.
• Transport Policy, Transport Rules, Road Zone
• Noise, Festivals and Events, Military Training.
• Significant trees.
• Forestry
The staff report on each of the above topics has now been prepared and is available on our Council website on the agenda section here
Those who made submissions or further submissions and indicated that they 'wish to be heard', will have the opportunity to present their submission to the District Plan Hearings Panel at either the first hearing, or subsequent hearings.
The hearing of submissions and further submissions on the Proposed District Plan run until March/April next year.
The Proposed District Plan Hearings Panel is made up of Three Independent Commissioner Mark Farnsworth and Ian Munro and Councillor Commissioner Tony Fox.
Councillor Sandra Goudie, who was on the Hearings Panel has decided to step down and is replaced by Councillor Fox.
