Crash on East Coast Road, North Shore
Police are currently on the scene in East Coast Road, North Shore, where a Police car has crashed.
The car was being driven by a single officer on his way to make a routine enquiry.
It was not involved in any pursuit or urgent driving incident at the time of the crash and initial scene examinations indicate the cause may possibly be medical.
The officer has now been taken to hospital in a serious condition and his family are being informed.
There are a number of diversions in place and motorists are asked to avoid the area.
